Casa Las Flores is located on El Salvador’s eastern coastline, near El Cuco and Punta Mango. The area is known for its beautiful tropical setting, uncrowded lineups, and world-class right-hand point breaks.
Las Flores is approximately 2.5–3 hours from San Salvador and around 2 hours from El Salvador International Airport, depending on traffic and road conditions. We can help arrange private transportation from the airport or other destinations in El Salvador.

Las Flores is a long right-hand point break known for its clean lines, speed, and excellent high-performance sections. Depending on the swell and tide, the wave can offer everything from playful shoulders to powerful, hollow sections.

Depending on the swell and tides, we also surf other waves in the Wild East region, including Punta Mango, La Vaca, El Toro, and Punta Bongo.

Las Flores can work for different skill levels depending on the conditions and the section of the wave.

On smaller days and in the inside section, the wave can be more manageable. However, the main point can become powerful and fast, so intermediate and advanced surfers will generally get the most out of the wave.

If you are a beginner, we recommend talking with our surf team about the conditions before paddling out.

Las Flores receives surf throughout the year, but the main southern swell season generally runs from April through October.

June through September typically brings some of the most consistent and powerful swells. April–May and October can offer an excellent balance of quality surf and fewer crowds.

During November and December, the waves are generally smaller than during the rest of the year, but conditions can be very clean throughout the day.

El Salvador’s coastline receives waves year-round, so the most important thing is to keep an eye on the surf forecast.

Tide plays an important role at Las Flores. Lower tides can produce faster and more powerful sections, while higher tides can make some areas of the wave softer and more approachable. The ideal tide depends on the size of the swell and the specific section you want to surf.

One of the great advantages of Las Flores is its relatively uncrowded lineup compared with some of El Salvador’s more famous surf destinations.

Crowds can increase during peak surf season, but the east coast generally offers a more relaxed surf experience.

A guide is not mandatory, but it can make a big difference, especially during your first few sessions.

A local surf guide can help you understand the take-off zone, currents, tides, best sections of the wave, and nearby surf spots. It also allows you to make the most of changing conditions during your stay.

Yes. Surfboard rentals can be arranged depending on availability and board type.

If you are looking for a specific high-performance board, we recommend contacting us in advance so we can help match the equipment to your surfing level and the expected conditions.

If you have a board you are comfortable with, bringing your own equipment is always an option.

However, if you prefer to travel light, board rental can be arranged locally. We recommend choosing your board based on your surfing level, the size of the swell, and the type of waves you plan to surf.

Yes. Punta Mango is located along the same eastern coastline and can be reached by boat.

Depending on conditions, we can help organize surf trips to Punta Mango and other nearby breaks, allowing you to experience more than one of El Salvador’s famous east-coast waves during your stay.

The eastern coastline offers several surf breaks within reach of Las Flores, including Punta Mango and other lesser-known local waves.

Our surf team can recommend the best option based on your ability, swell direction, tide, and wind conditions.

We recommend bringing:

  • Your preferred surfboard or boards
  • Reef-safe sunscreen
  • Rash guard
  • Surf wax
  • Fins and spare fin + hardware
  • Leash and a spare leash, if possible
  • Reef booties if you are sensitive to reef or rocky bottoms
  • A light travel bag for boat trips

A wetsuit is generally not necessary because El Salvador has warm tropical water year-round.

El Salvador has warm water throughout the year, so most surfers are comfortable surfing in boardshorts or a swimsuit.

A rash guard is highly recommended for sun protection during long surf sessions.

We recommend staying at least 5–7 nights to give yourself enough time to experience different swell and tide conditions.

A longer stay also gives you the opportunity to surf Las Flores, explore Punta Mango, and discover other waves along the eastern coast.

There is much more to Las Flores than surfing. When conditions are smaller, you can explore the surrounding beaches, enjoy the tropical landscape, take a boat trip, discover nearby destinations, or simply slow down and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of El Salvador’s east coast.

Yes. Airport transfers can be arranged as part of your trip. We recommend booking your transportation in advance, especially during the high surf season.

Absolutely! For surfers who want to experience more of El Salvador, we recommend combining Las Flores with destinations such as Punta Mango and the La Libertad surf coast. This allows you to experience different waves, landscapes, and surf cultures during the same trip. If you need more information about our Combo Surf Tour, please contact us!
